Bhubaneswar: A sniffer dog show and an adventurous bike show among other performances by Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel marked the 35th Raising Day celebration of RPF at the East Coast Railway (ECoR) headquarters here Tuesday.
The Raising Day is celebrated to commemorate the valiant efforts of RPF in various fields related to security.
ECoR general manager (GM) Vidya Bhushan exchanged the salutes with RPF contingent and reviewed the parade. Addressing the RPF personnel, Bhushan advised them to strive for ensuring fool-proof safety and security to passengers.
The ECoR GM also praised their dedication while performing duties and saving railway property as well as human lives. He stressed that RPF personnel should be provided with modern equipment to perform their duties effectively.
RPF/ECoR inspector general and principal chief security commissioner Raja Ram elaborated upon the performance and activities of RPF under ECoR jurisdiction. “Despite facing a lot of challenges while performing duties especially the safety and security of passengers as well as protecting railway property, RPF personnel are able to meet the challenges very courageously and with due sincerity,” Ram added.
Bravery awards and merit certificates, along with cash prizes, were distributed to RPF personnel.
Additional GM and ECoR principal heads of the departments were also present on this occasion.
