ECoR runs 2000 meter-long goods train

Bhubaneswar: East Coast Railway (ECoR) Monday ran three goods train rakes with a length of about 2000 metres on an experimental basis for the first time for economic path utilisation with less man power.

The train comprising 147 wagons, 3 brake/guard vans and 4 engines ran on experimental basis between Godbhaga and Balangir stations in Sambalpur railway division. The first rake of 45 flat wagons was loaded with containers and the second and third empty rakes of 51 alumina containers moved towards Visakhapatnam port. The train utilised less manpower, ran on a single signal and single closure of level crossings, ECoR sources here said.
