Bhubaneswar: The East Coast Railway (ECoR) Tuesday said in order to clear the additional rush anticipated during the puja season, different sets of special trains are now plying in Odisha under the jurisdiction of the ECoR division and several other special trains will also be introduced in coming days.
The ECoR Tuesday listed out an array of new puja special trains running under the ECoR jurisdiction to tackle the crowd. The department said that while several such special initiatives have been introduced by the ministry, the department is also chalking out to have more such trains.
While talking to the media, an official from the department said, “Keeping in mind the escalating additional rush of passengers during puja holidays, Ministry of Railways is running special trains for different destinations from and through ECoR jurisdiction by creating additional berths.”
He also added, “A number of Special Trains have been planned to ply between different destinations of the country through ECoR jurisdiction during this puja season. More berths will also be created from ECoR. Important regular trains are to be augmented with additional coaches during the period.”
These trains are: Puri-Santragachhi (Howrah)-Puri Special, Puri-Shalimar (Howrah)-Puri Special, Bhubaneswar-Secunderabad-Bhubaneswar Special, Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam Special, Visakhapatnam-Tirupati-Visakhapatnam Special, Kacheguda-Tata-Kacheguda Special, Sealdah-Puri-SealdahSpecial and Santragachhi-Chennai-Santragachhi Special.
