Bhubaneswar: East Coast Railway (ECoR) will run 184 special trains under its jurisdiction towards Puri and vice-versa, apart from the special trains from neighbouring states during Rath Yatra for the pilgrims.
On Gundicha Yatra July 14, 14 special trains will run towards Puri. One special train each from Visakhapatnam, Kharagpur, Shalimar and one from Junagarh Road will leave July 13 from the originating stations to Puri.
Ten special trains including one each from Bangiriposi, Kendujhargarh, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Paradip, Brahmapur, Palasa and three from Khurda Road will run to the Pilgrim city July 14.
In the return direction, 14 special trains will leave from Puri, one each towards Visakhapatnam, Kharagpur, Shalimar, Junagarh Road, Bangiriposi, Kendujhargarh, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Paradip, Brahmapur, Palasa and three towards Khurda Road on Gundicha Yatra day. ECoR sources said 24 special trains will run to and from Puri between July 15 and 20. One pair of special trains will run between Bangiriposi and Puri during the period and three special trains from Khurda Road will run towards Puri. Two special trains to Khurda Road and one special to Bhubaneswar will also run during the period.
Similarly, eight special trains will run for Sandhyadarshan July 21. One pair of special trains will run between Bangiriposi and Puri and three pairs of special trains will run between Khurda Road and Puri from both the directions. Thirteen special trains will run towards Puri for Bahuda Yatra (return car festival). One special train from Visakhapatnam, one from Shalimar and another from Junagarh Road will leave July 21 from the originating stations to Puri.
Likewise, 10 special trains which include one each from Bangiriposi, Kendujhargarh, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Paradip, Brahmapur, Palasa and three from Khurda Road will run towards Puri July 22. In the return direction, 13 special trains will leave from Puri, one each towards Visakhapatnam, Shalimar, Sambalpur, Bangiriposi, Kendujhargarh, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Paradip, Brahmapur, Palasa and three towards Khurda Road on Gundicha Yatra day.
Thirteen special trains will run towards Puri for Sunabesha. One special train from Shalimar will leave July 22 towards Puri. Twelve Special trains includes one each from Sambalpur, Bangiriposi, Kendujhargarh, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Paradip, Brahmapur, Palasa, Visakhapatnam and three from Khurda Road will run towards Puri July 23. In the return directions, 13 Special trains will leave from Puri includes one each towards Visakhapatnam, Shalimar, Junagarh Road, Bangiriposi, Kendujhargarh, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Paradeep, Brahmapur, Palasa and three towards Khurda Road on Sunavesha day.
Three pairs of special trains will run between Khurda Road and Nayagarh Town from both the directions on Yatra days like Gundicha July 14, Sandhya Darshan July 21, Bahuda July 22 and Sunabesha July 23. Similarly, two pairs of special trains between Khurda Road and Nayagarh Town from both the directions will run between July 15 and 20.
Services of 12891/12892 Bangiriposi-Bhubaneswar-Bangiriposi Express will be extended to Puri from July 14 to 23 having stoppages at Khurda Road and Sakhigopal and 58426/58425 Kendujhargarh-Bhubaneswar-Kendujhargarh passenger will be extended to Puri during the period and will be utilised as special trains.
