Baripada/Thakurmunda: The decomposed carcass of an elephant calf was found inside the Similipal sanctuary in Mayurbhanj district Friday, forest officials said.
The elephant was suspected to have died of some infection, divisional forest officer, Karanjia, Prasanna Kumar Behera said. Some others suspect it to be a case of anthrax.
Post-mortem examination of the carcass was conducted and the report was awaited, forest officials said.
