Baripada: A 55-year-old man was trampled to death by an elephant in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district, a forest official said on Friday.
Ratan Soren had gone to attend to nature’s call Thursday night when the elephant attacked him at Deopata village under Manada range of Rairangpur forest division.
He was taken to the Rairangpur subdivisional hospital where he died, Range Officer Dharitri Murmu said.
A team of forest officials has been deployed to chase away the elephant, Murmu added.
