Baripada: Governor Dr Ganeshi Lal advised the officials of the district administration here to ensure the highest development of Mayurbhanj. He visited the district Tuesday and laid stress on effective implementation of the various developmental projects and welfare schemes of the central and state governments.
On his arrival here, the Governor garlanded the statue of Maharaj at the North Odisha University at Takatpur and did a round of the campus before holding an interaction session with students, professors and the vice-chancellor. He also inaugurated a cataract operation camp.
Besides, Lal unveiled photographs of Gandhiji as part of preparation for celebration of 150th Gandhi Jayanti.
At noon, he visited Rani Bhola High School and interacted with teachers and students. The Governor later visited Baura village where he inspected various developmental schemes and projects.
At the Prayas conference hall of Murgabadi, the Governor held a review meeting with officials of the district administration on electrification under Soubhagrya Yojna, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ujjawala gas distribution, sanitation drive and several other welfare schemes. Collector Vineet Bhardwaj, Principal Secretary Madhusudan Padhi and SP Abinash Kumar were present at the meeting.
The Collector informed the Governor about the ongoing developmental works in the district, while Padhi laid stress on picking up beneficiaries eligible to get housing units.
The Collector said that the beneficiaries left out of the housing schemes will be included within a month.
