Bhubaneswar: Extending a helping hand to the flood victims of Kerala, former Rajya Sabha member Renubala Pradhan donated her one month’s pension to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) Tuesday.
The cheque was graciously accepted by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik who thanked the ex-member of the upper house for her humanitarian gesture. She donated Rs 21,500 to the CMRF.
Moreover, Odisha Diploma Engineers Service Association (ODESA) donated Rs 1 lakh to the CMRF for relief measures in flood-ravaged Kerala.
Notably, the Odisha cadre IAS and IPS associations have already pledged a day’s salary of their members for the Kerala flood victims Monday.
The Chief Minister has already announced an assistance of Rs 10 crore to the Kerala government. He has also extended other assistances like dispatching a special train to help the flood victims reach home safely and deploying fire personnel for the rescue operations.
