Sambalpur: A former sarpanch of Salebhata panchayat near Naktideula in Sambalpur district was allegedly hacked to death by a group of miscreants at Talasaburi Monday night.
The deceased was identified as Parsuram Pradhan.
According to reports, Parsuram was chased by a group of armed miscreants with sharp weapons at 9 pm while he was returning home. He was later attacked at Talasaburi.
Locals rushed Parsuram to the Naktideula government hospital in a critical condition, and later he was shifted to VIMSAR in Burla, where the doctors declared him brought dead.
Past enmity could be the reason behind the murder, sources said.
