Nayagarh: Vigilance sleuths of Cuttack Thursday morning said they have conducted raids at eight places including the office and residence of a minor irrigation executive engineer on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The accused has been identified as Binay Kumar Subudhi. He serves as an executive engineer in the minor irrigation department in Nayagarh district.
According to a vigilance officer, the raids were conducted at eight places, including three places in Bhubaneswar, two in Berhampur, his official residence and relative’s houses in Puri.
Till last reports came in, the raids were underway under the supervision of Cuttack vigilance DSP Saroj Kumar Samal.
It may be mentioned here that the Vigilance department is on an overdrive to eliminate corruption in the state. Recently it arrested a female teacher Tilottamma Mohanty in Bhubaneswar on charges of amassing property disproportionate to her known sources of income.
