Bhubaneswar: A painting exhibition on Lord was held at Jayadev Bhawan here Sunday. A total of twenty paintings were exhibited at the event. It was a solo exhibition by renowned Haryana based Odia artist Jyotsna Mihir. This was her second exhibition in the capital city. MP Raghunath Mahapatra inaugurated the event.
Mihir, a self-taught artist, keeps on exploring the world of symbolism, especially regarding gods and goddesses. The paintings in her latest exhibition present Lord Jagannath in a modernistic and abstract manner with religious and artistic motifs. She is organising solo exhibitions since a decade and has held exhibitions in many cities in Haryana. Recently, she exhibited her paintings at Dilli Haat in New Delhi on the occasion of Raja Mahotsav.
Based in the industrial city of Hisar in Haryana, she is a late entrant in the world of painting. She started her work ten years ago. She has organised about twelve exhibitions since then.
Addressing the media she said, “Bhubaneswar has many discerning art lovers. Most of them are full of curiosity. They pose questions on the craft of painting. They probe about the technical aspects of art.”
