Bhawanipatna: As many as 12 school teachers in 13 blocks of Kalahandi district were found to have used forged Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) certificates to gain employment, an official said Sunday.
According to the official, the forgery surfaced when OTET certificates of 19 teachers were sent to Board of Secondary Education (BSE) in Cuttack for verification. The BSE authorities reported that OTET certificates of 12 of the school teachers were manipulated.

Names of the school teachers were not revealed as a departmental investigation is still underway. The 12 teachers include one each in Bhawanipatna, Junagarh and Kalampur, two each in M Rampur and Karlamunda and three in Th Rampur, the official added.
It is pertinent to mention here that show-cause notices have been issued to the 12 school teachers asking them to comply by October 31 as to why no legal action should be initiated against them.
