‘Fani’ aftermath: Preparedness of Pattamundai PHD yields results

Pattamundai: While people of Puri and Twin City – Cuttack and Bhubaneswar — are struggling to avail drinking water due to devastating cyclonic storm ‘Fani’, the preparedness of Pattamundai Public Health department in coastal Kendrapara district has proven to a boon for the residents here.

Sensing the trouble ahead, the department had installed DG sets at different pump houses, stored fuel and hired ample numbers of water tankers to avoid any disruption in water supply after the cyclone.

All the preparation and hard work came in handy after the cyclone struck. People here have easy access to drinking water facilities.

Under the supervision of PHD Cuttack Division Nabakishore Samal, Kendrapara Sub-division AEE Janmenjaya Nayak and AE Dhirendra Patra, the department successfully carried out the post-cyclone works and helped people in restoration as well.

Drinking water is being supplied to people without any interruption and steps are being taken to bring back normalcy in the block in several areas that got affected by the cyclone.
