Farmers fall over themselves to get KALIA form

Parajang: Hundreds of farmers thronging at panchayat offices here in this block in Dhenkanal district to get a form to avail benefits of ‘KALIA’ yojana and most of them returning empty handed has become a regular phenomenon.

It has been discussed in the locality that the much hyped ‘KALIA’ yojana is stumbling even from its very beginning.

As less number of forms are available with panchayat offices in compare to beneficiaries, such unpleasant scenes are occurring on daily basis. Beneficiaries are seen standing in queues at panchayat offices everyday for hours together to get a form but at last have to return empty handed.

Block development officer Basant Kumar Mallick said there are 29 panchayats. Our block has received 3000 forms from district agriculture department.  The panchayats each get about 100 forms. Hence, the problem arises. However, the problem is a temporary one.  Soon it will be solved after holding discussion with the agriculture department.
