Farmers use Modi, Amit Shah cutouts as scarecrows

Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka: Political parties use big cutouts to attract voters, but once the elections are over these huge structures are being utilised for different purposes. Similar is the case in Chikkamagaluru district where BJP made a big impact during the Karnataka assembly election two months ago.

The farmers in this district are using cutouts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah as scarecrows.

Both Modi and Shah had addressed rallies at Chikkamagaluru district, and local party leaders had used massive cutouts of the two as part of their aggressive election campaign.

Instead of discarding the huge cutouts of Modi and Shah, farmers in the district are reaping the benefits of the campaigns. The discarded cutouts are now being put to good use by farmers who use them as

scarecrows in their fields. However, some locals refuted that no cutouts were used in farmlands.

Earlier, a farmer of Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh had used a bikini-clad poster of Sunny Leone to save his crops from evil eye.

Similarly, a farmer in Telangana was reported of using telugu siren Kajal Agarwal’s posters.

As far as agriculture in the district is concerned, the area had received good rainfall and sowing was almost complete, villagers said.

TN Shivakiran, president of Lakkavalli grama panchayat said that he hadn’t seen any cutouts used as scarecrows.
