Bhubaneswar:Lavanya Das, a Class IX student of DAV, Unit 8, Bhubaneswar, is a professional model and has been extremely fascinated towards the fashion world since her childhood.
Lavanya has once again made Odisha proud by winning three titles at the Prince and Princess International beauty pageant held in Phuket, Thailand, from July 25 to 31, 2018.
This is not the first time she made her mark in the modelling industry after emerging as the winner in last year’s Pre-teen Junior Model International beauty pageant in Kerala. In 2017, she was the lone contestant from Odisha representing India along with nine other Indians in different age groups. She was pitted against 20 contestants from UAE, Vietnam, Japan, South Korea, Nepal, England and Sri Lanka. There she showcased her talent in different rounds like national costume, night of the nation, talent round and sports round wherein she left other contestants behind to win the Miss Best Personality and Miss Best Introduction among 30 contestants.
Talking to Orissa POST, Lavanya’s mother Lipika Das expressed her happiness, saying: “She made Orissa and India proud, as she put forth the vibrant culture and tradition and immensely rich heritage of the country and the state before the world. Since Class I, Lavanya used to participate in fashion shows and has been winning prizes too.”
The Class VIII student bagged her first title at a very tender age when she was in Class III at a state-level fashion event. She has taken part in many district-level events where she always emerged victorious and has never let her parents and teachers down.
