Chhatrapur: The fifth-phase of door to door health screening to detect COVID-19 patients in urban areas of Ganjam district began Saturday.
In a tweet, Ganjam district collector Vijay Amruta Kulange said, “DTD health screening started inall urban areas in Ganjam. Please Don’t hide symptoms. Cooperate to team.”
The health screening in urban areas will continue for four days and while 50 medical teams are being tasked with the job to carry out the screening in Berhampur city, 150 teams are doing the same in other urban areas.
Notably, Ganjam reported 274 fresh cases of COVID-19 Saturday. With this, the district’s COVID tally has gone up to 12, 633. Of them, 9,611 patients have so far recovered from the pandemic disease and 2,889 are still undergoing treatment. The district also registered two COVID-19 deaths Saturday, taking the toll to 125. At the same time, the district has so far eight death cases caused by reasons other than COVID-19.
