Director-General of Police (Fire Services, Home Guards and Civil Defence) Satyajit Mohanty issued a circular to all range fire officers to comply with the office order. The decision was taken in wake of the recent fire incident at Sadguru Covid Hospital of Jagatpur in Cuttack.

A 15-point checklist featuring ‘things-to-do’ or precautions to be taken for avoiding fire mishaps has been issued to COVID-19 facilities, which include Covid Hospitals, care centres and isolation centres.

The checklist highlights on precautions involving the condition of fire extinguishers and other major installations.
