First phase of livelihood support Rs 5,000 under KALIA to be distributed Feb 15

Bhubaneswar: After successful transfer of financial assistance to about 12.45 lakh small and marginal farmers in the first phase under the KALIA scheme, the state government has initiated process for distribution of the livelihood support of Rs 5,000 at a mega event in Kendrapara, February 15. A meeting in this regard was convened by the Chief Minister along with other senior officials, Tuesday.

 

The state government has planned to start transfer of the first installment of Rs 5,000 to nearly four-five lakh landless agricultural households for their livelihood support from February 15 under Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) scheme, Cooperation secretary Krishan Kumar told Orissa POST.

 

Meanwhile, the second phase of financial assistance to small and marginal farmers will be given February 23 at a programme at Sohela in Bargarh, reports said. In the second phase, around 12 to 14 lakh small and marginal farmers will get the first installment of Rs 5,000.
