First-timers excited about participating in Mettle Meet 2019

Bhubaneswar: First-timers sounded upbeat about participating in Mettle Meet 2019, the biggest quizzing extravaganza in the state that kicked off at the Swosti Premium Saturday morning. Participants reached the venue early for registration as they could hardly wait for the show to begin.

“This is our first time and we have prepared ourselves thoroughly by reading newspapers and other quiz books. We will give our best. May the best team win,” said Deepshikha Paul of DAV School of Business Management.

Participants were also seen making last-minute preparations before they face a volley of questions from quizmaster Ajay Poonia. Sohum Agrwal of Sri Krishna International School said, “We are participating in Mettle Meet for the first time and we are confident about making it to the finals.”

Students of DAV Public School, Kalinga Nagar, who are participating for the first time in Mettle Meet, feel that the final battle will be a tough affair. “We have been preparing for a long time and learning new things. It is going to be a tough contest,” said Satyam Smitodaya Nayak. His teammate Sriyanshu Ray echoed his sentiments: “It’s our first time and we know that it’s going to be tough.”

Another first-timer, Abinash Panda from Asian School of Business Management termed the battle of brains a learning experience. “We prepared ourselves by reading a lot of general knowledge books and solving sample questions. We hope to leave a mark in our first attempt.”

Xavier University Bhubaneswar is another big name throwing its hat in the ring for the first time. Saurav Senapati, one of the quizzers form the university’s participating team, said, “There are apprehensions but we are equally excited. We haven’t made any thorough preparations. Since we love quizzing we will give our best and try to stay on top. We hope to do well.”
