Jharsuguda: The Formalin-test report of 10 samples comprising 6 species of fish collected from different market places in this district found negative.
After reports of Formalin content in fish samples, the District Health Department, Fishery Department and police conducted joint raids at some areas including bus stand, Cox colony, Bombay Chhak, BTM and OMP. Ten samples of six varieties of fish were collected from five shops and sent for test.
When contacted, district public health officer Dr Dolamani Patel said the report confirmed that Formalin was not found in any of the collected samples.
On the other hand, locals alleged that the officials collected samples of local fish instead of those from Andhra Pradesh.
They alleged that the officials had only gone through the motion of conducting the raids.
