Fitness enthusiasts learn Zumba steps

BHUBANESWAR: To promote Zumba fitness programs in the twin city, a Zumba master class was organised by Zumba community of Bhubaneswar at 9th Street near Nicco Park here Sunday.
This was organised to spread awareness among people about Zumba fitness . The event was sponsored by Max System, LA Casa, 10 Melting Orchid, Fastrack and Society valued services. Zin Nandini, Zin Madhavi, Zin Purnima and Zin Simran were the members of the community who conducted the whole event.
Zes Debanjan Bose, Zumba education specialist of Odisha and Chattisgarh and about 20 instructors from Odisha, Kolkata and Chattishgarh attended the class. Fitness enthusiasts from all over the twin city thronged the event.
Bose said, “The easy to follow dance workout is fun. It boosts your body from top to bottom. It also helps us to burn high calorie. The simplistic dance targets all our muscles. The fun-filled workout activity not only gives us motivation to work hard but improves our cardiovascular fitness with better coordination.”
“The exercise was invented by Alberto “Beto” Pérez, a Colombian dancer and choreographer. He created fitness program Zumba in the 1990s. The program involves dance and aerobic elements with accompanying music that is mainly Latin but also incorporates various genres of music and associated martial arts moves, squats, lunges and other. We enjoyed the experience a lot. The visitors were seen learning the new step with much enthusiasm,” he added.
The other licensed instructors who graced the event were Zin Smita, Zin Nikita, Zin Preity, Zin Amit, Zin Manas, Zin Binod, Zin Gargy, Zin Divya Jyoti and Zin Naveen.
One of the licenced zumba instructor Zin Binod Kumar Nayak said, “I work at Kalinga Fitness, Bhubaneswar and my mission is to make my state active and fit. I want to spread Zumba culture in the state.”
People from all age groups enjoyed the class thoroughly and learned the new activity which would make them fitter and more active if practiced properly.
