Cuttack: In the wake of leak of question paper of High School Certificate Examination, the Board of Secondary Education suspended 11 teachers and centre in-charges and lodged FIRs against eight of them. Consequently, five teachers were arrested Saturday for their involvement in posting images of the exams on social media.
BSE sources said, police have arrested two superintendents and three invigilators in this connection. The arrested persons include, superintendent PK Pati and invigilators Mukunda Sabar and Bighnaraj Supakarl from Karangamal High School and superintendent Sushil Kumar Joshi and invigilator Arjunajay Panda from Litisergi High School.
Boden police have filed a case (28/19) under Section 417, 409, 34 of the Orissa Conduct of Examinations Act-1988. BSE has identified four students for their involvement in the question paper leak and debarred them from the examination. The board, meanwhile, has directed examination centre incharges to take precautionary measures to prevent recurrence of the incident. “Every question paper has a security code. We can detect examination centre from where the paper has gone viral,” said an official.
The BSE, meanwhile, has advised centre superintendents to take steps to prevent crowding of people at the exam centres. “The centre superintendents may contact police and seek imposition of Section 144 around the examination centres,” said a BSE official.
Odia question paper went viral from two schools in Nuapada district and one each from Denkanal and Koraput districts went viral. Moreover, irregularities were found at an exam centre in Jagatsinghpur district.
