Buguda: In yet another shocking incident of child sexual abuse, a five-year-old girl was raped in a village under Buguda police limits of Ganjam district.
Though the accused, a married person, had committed the crime Thursday evening, the incident came to fore Sunday after the survivor’s family lodged a police complaint.
The accused is absconding, it was learnt.
According to sources, the accused committed the crime when the child was alone . Later, even though he made efforts to cover up the incident, the family mustered courage and lodged an FIR with the local police.
Keeping the seriousness of the incident in view, the police have registered a case (Case No-69/19) and have launched a manhunt to nab the accused. The victim has also been medically examined at Buguda Community Health Centre (CHC).
