Bhubaneswar: Following the ‘quit India’ order of the Odisha Police, eight Thai women who were rescued from a high profile sex racket operating in a spa in Bapuji Nagar left for Thailand Thursday afternoon.
Earlier, police has instructed them to leave the country by 3.30 pm Thursday.
The notice was served on them as they were found violating the visa norms by involving themselves in the flesh trade in capital.
Twin city Commissioner of Police Yogesh Bahadur Khurania said the women were rescued May 19 from a high-profile sex racket running in the guise of a spa at Bapuji Nagar area here.
The notice said while some of them had tourist visas, a few had business visas.
During the raid, seven persons were arrested from the spa, Khurania told newsmen.
The special squad of the Commissionerate police had busted a similar prostitution racket at Gajapati Nagar here recently and rescued three girls. Three men were taken into custody in connection with it.
Last year, the police issued a similar notice to three Thai women and asked to leave the country for their involvement in a sex racket running in a spa located at Kharvel Nagar here.
