FM varsity signs MoU with Balasore Alloys

Balasore: A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between Fakir Mohan University and Balasore Alloys Limited to provide continuous support to students of various departments for dissertation studies and internships under the supervision of Pankaj Kumar Padhi, professor, department of Chemistry. The event was organised at the varsity’s PG Council Conference Hall. Professor Sabyasachi Patnaik, chairman, PG Council welcomed the signing of the MoU and expressed the hope that it would help the students in the field of industrial employment in the coming days. The meeting was attended by Poonam Wangnoo, Vice President, Balasore Alloys Ltd.

The main objective of the MoU is to empower students for placement in the industry and encourage the faculty and staff of both organisations to conduct research activities in the academic interface with the industries. Vice-Chancellor of the university Santosh Kumar Tripathi advised the students to take advantage of the MoU to make their field studies and application of practical oriented knowledge more effective.

In addition, the COF of the university Manas Kumar Patro advised the students to work on self-enabling with taking advantage of the employment opportunities based on the provisions of this MoU. Executive Director of Balasore Alloy Ltd. C Suresh Babu along with teachers of Environmental Science, Chemistry and other departments were present. The students present expressed their hope on this MoU.
