Follow these home remedies to recover taste, smell post COVID-19

Loss of taste and smell is also among the various symptoms of Covid-19. In some people, it returns after recovering from the infection while some still have to deal with it and sometimes it take months to get your normal taste and smell ability.

Here are a few home remedies to get back the lost taste and smell:

Ginger: – Take a piece of peeled ginger and chew it slowly. If you cannot chew the ginger directly, then use it in tea.  Ginger has a strong aroma and can enhance your sense of taste and smell.

Mint: – Take 10 mint leaves and mix them in a cup of water. Then, boil it in a sauce pan. Once it cools down after boiling, filter it and add some honey to it. Mint leaves contain menthol. Its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties are evident in nature which can restore your taste and smell.

Garlic: – Mix 2-3 chopped garlic pods in a cup of water. Boil the mixture in a sauce pan. Once the mixture cools down, filter it completely and drink it. The anti-inflammatory properties of a compound made from garlic are helpful in treating stuffy nose.

Lemon: – Mix honey and lemon in a glass of water, this drink has a strong sour smell. The properties of both lemon and honey can help in normalizing the taste and smell.

Water: – Drinking plenty of water helps in clearing the non-essential cough. Water keeps the body hydrated. This can help avoid taste and smell problems.
