Bhubaneswar: Veteran freedom fighter and former minister Dolagobinda Pradhan passed away at his residence here Sunday night. He was 93.
Pradhan is survived by his wife, four sons and three daughters.
Born June 7, 1929, Pradhan started his political career as a ward member. Later, he was elected to the Odisha Legislative Assembly from Cuttack Sadar constituency twice between 1980 and 1990. Besides, he served as the Urban Development Minister from 1989 to 1990.
Pradhan, a strict follower of Mahatma Gandhi and his ideology, had joined the Quit India Movement in 1942. He was imprisoned for three years and two months in Cuttack and Berhampur jails.
