Keonjhar: All four accused in a gang-rape case that took place at Jalananda village under Ghasipura police limits in Keonjhar district December 29 have been arrested, Keonjhar district police said Sunday.
The accused have been identified as Meda Naik, Chugulu Naik, Balia Naik and Kuna Naik. They were arrested under several relevant sections of Indian Penal Code and POCSO Act.
According to the police, the victim, aged 17, was living with her widowed mother in the village. She had gone to a nullah December 29. Finding her alone, the four accused overpowered her and took her to a secluded place where they took turns on her.
Reaching home, she narrated her ordeal before her mother who then registered a report at Ghasipura police station.
The police said the accused men would be produced in a court following their medical test. A detailed investigation is underway, it was learnt.
