Nilgiri: Four members of a family were taken ill after drinking bel fruit (wood apple) juice at Hatasahi village under this police station limits in Balasore district, Sunday.
The four identified as Purnachandra Pandit (48), Geeta (45), Basanti (52) and Ranjit(28) are currently undergoing treatment at the sub divisional hospital here. Their condition is stated to be stable.
Sources said, family members prepared and consumed juice Sunday afternoon to beat the sultry weather conditions. After some time, the four complained of uneasiness. They were immediately rushed to the hospital by other members of the family.
Food poisoning is suspected to be the reason for which they fell ill.
