Bhubaneswar: The fourth edition of Bhubaneswar International Trade Fair, organised by Gupta Event Management Pvt. Ltd. (GEM), Friday, kicked off here at Janata Maidan in city.
Kendrapara MLA Sashibhusan Behera, Chairman of Housing Board Priyadarshi Mishra, IPS Arup Pattnaik, President of Odisha Khadi Board Sangram Keshari Paikray, managing director of GEM Sujeet Gupta and director Payal Acharya Gupta were present at the inaugural ceremony.
Eleven-day long fair has drawn exhibitors from various parts of the countries and also participants from overseas.
Gupta said, “As many as 20 states and 10 countries are participating in this trade fair. Also, we have installed around 500 stalls for the exhibitors here. A wide range of products like furniture, interiors, home décor, kitchen appliances, crockery, health products, jewellery, handicrafts, handloom items, Thailand flowers and dress, Pakistani marbles, Afghanistan dry fruits are being displayed here.”
The exhibitors also expressed their enthusiasm for being part of the trade fair and they hoped that the festive season would boost the business. The authorities of Kolkata-based Royal Furniture, which has been participating since the fair started, said that Diwali will boost their sale. “For current festivities, we are giving exchange offer, buyback offer and we give 50 per cent discount if any customer don’t go for exchange scheme,” said Kareem, a staffer. The furniture is available between the range from Rs 38,000 to Rs 95,000.
Stone fountains from Malaysia would be centre of attraction for the visitors. These stone fountains are available from Rs 3,000 to 50, 000.
