Bhubaneswar: With over 96,000 Plus II seats falling vacant after completion of the second phase admissions for 2018-19 academic session, the state government has invited fresh applications from students for the third phase of admissions.
According to a notification from the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education, students can apply for online admission through Common Application Form (CAF), by downloading the same from www.samsodisha.gov.in from August 23 to 29. After online submission of the form, they can deposit it in any SAMS Resource Centre by August 30 (5pm).
The merit list would be announced September 3 and the selected candidates can take admission from September 3 to 6.
The students who have not applied for admission in the first and second phase can apply for admission. Those who have applied for admission but are willing to modify their preferences can also apply for the same.
As more than 1 lakh seats fell vacant after the first and second phase admissions, the Directorate of Higher Education, in a notification August 1, had asked the students to apply for spot admission. While the merit list for the same was announced August 10, the admissions were conducted between August 11 and 14.
As per the latest data on SAMS website, 96,852 seats of Plus II streams were vacant in all Plus II colleges after the spot admissions 2003. Regular classes for the current academic session have started July 24.
