Gajalaxmi Puja concludes with immersion ceremony in Khurda

Bhubaneswar: After Dhenkanal, Khurda holds the reputation of hosting lavish Gajalaxmi Puja in Odisha. The festival which was being celebrated here for the past one week, has concluded with a grand immersion ceremony.

In Khurda, Gajalaxmi Pujas were held across 31 pandals (temporary structures) this year. The pandals housing the idols were adorned with elaborate decorations. Each pandal showcased a unique theme.

The immersion ceremony was jointly conducted by Khurda district administration and the local business federation. All the idols joined the procession in a row from BJB High School. Khurda was rocked by traditional musical instruments, Sambalpuri folk music blended with DJ tracks.

The administration felicitated the puja committees for idol decoration and discipline near Town Hall square. The puja committee members were further felicitated by office-bearers of Biju Chhatra Janata Dal. The procession continued till late in the night.

Later, all the idols were immersed in a pond near TLC Road.
