Puri, August 11: Former Kendrapara superintendent of police (SP) Satish Gajbhiye’s wife owns 10 acre land under Gop tehsil in the district.
Official documents suggest that Gajbhiye’s wife Ranjana had purchased 10 acre land in Badakiamala mauza under Barimund revenue office October 1, 2012. Ranjana had purchased the land from nine villagers—Ratnakar Behera, Banambar Behera, Rabindranath Behera, Trilochan Dalai, Niranjan Dalai, Arjun Dalai, Madhab Behera, Sanjay Behera and Brajabandhu Behera.
The land is being utilised for fish farming and banana cultivation. Sources said most of the produce are being exported to neighbouring states. Meanwhile, some unconfirmed sources claimed that the Gajbhiye couple has also purchased another 10 acre land in the locality.
“I have no idea regarding the landed properties of the Gajbhiye couple. The couple has not purchased any plot during my tenure,” said Gop tehsildar Harapriya Das, who is now in the charge of the sub-registrar office. Gajbhiye confirmed that his wife has landed property under Gop tehsil. “The land was purchased from my salary and other income sources of the family,” he said.
