Bhubaneswar, August 2: Ace mountaineer of Orissa Ganesh Chandra Jena scaled Mount Elbrus at Moscow, Rusia, Friday. “I scaled the peak in the morning hour at 8.45 pm,” Ganesh stated through a press release Sunday, while he was on his way to India.
A six member team from India was headed by Ganesh to climb the 5642 metres high mountain. The climbers were the first from India to reach the summit of Elbrus. Ganesh was an avid adventure sports lover, who was the first mail mountaineer of the state to scale Mount Everest in 2011. He also brought laurels for the state, when he became the lone participant from India to participate in the Everest Marathon in 2013.
