Phulbani: At least 12 unidentified miscreants allegedly barged into the malkhana on the premises of Kandhamal court by breaking open the window and decamped with five bags of ganja weighing around a quintal in the wee hours Monday.
According to reports, the miscreants who arrived on six motorcycles entered the court premises at 2 am. Later, they broke open a window of the malkhana and stormed in.
Two watchmen reached the spot and tried to stop them. However, the miscreants threatened them with sharp weapons and later fled away with the contraband-filled bags, sources said.
On being informed, police reached the spot at 2.30 am and started an investigation. The stolen ganja is estimated to be worth around Rs 7 lakh, police informed.
A special police team has been formed to nab the looters, the sources said.
