Chhatrapur: The district administration here has launched the Aadhaar card updation programme for the benefit of the citizens in Ganjam district. As per the programme, people having Aaadhaar cards for more than 10 years can update them on their mobile phone or with the data-entry operators in the district office free of cost. They will have to pay Rs 50 for updation of their Aadhaar cards at the Mo Seva Kendras in the district. The programme started March 15 and will continue till June 14. The matter came to the fore at a meeting held in the district Collectorate premises, Wednesday.
Additional district magistrate (ADM) Leena Kumari Khes presided over the meeting. People who have done their Aadhaar cards 10 years back can update the information and correct the errors if any in their cards under this programme, she said. This will help them to keep their Aadhaar cards updated and valid. The updation can also be done in all the Mo Seva Kendra in the 503-gram panchayats in the district. She said that one needs to have a mobile phone number for the updation of their Aadhaar cards while those whose mobile numbers have changed should visit the Aadhaar centres and update their mobile phone numbers in their cards. The district administration has set a target for daily updation and the details of the updation will be submitted daily by the centres with the ADM.
Chief food supplies officer Pusha Munda, district women and child development officer Subhashree Patra, district social welfare officer Kalyani Das, district information and public relation officer Rabi Narayan Behera, BEO Sitaram Patra, district e-governance manager Guru Prasad were present in the meeting.
