Bhubaneswar, Feb 7: Ganjam district emerged overall champions of the 45th State Excise Athletic Meet, which concluded Saturday at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar. Ganjam totaled of 77 points to take the top honours. Sundargarh Zone bagged a total of 47 points to finish runners-up.
Nilima Kerketa of Sambalpur and Dilip Kumar Samanta of Ganjam scored 18 points each to bag the best women’s and men’s athlete of the meet respectively. Altogether 700 athletes from 30 districts of the state participated in the fray.
