Berhampur: Incessant rain in several parts of the state since Thursday has led to rise of water level in rivers. The situation is stated to be particularly critical in Ganjam, Gajapati and Balasore districts as rivers are in spate.
As per the water flow recorded at 9 am October 12, the water level in Jalaka at Mathani in Balasore district was falling, but still flowing above the danger level of 5.50 metres. On the other hand, water level in Rushikulya at Purusottampur in Ganjam district was rising. While its danger level is 16.83 metres, the water was flowing at 18.60 metres. Water in Vansadhara at Gunupur was flowing above the danger level but it was falling. Vansadhara’s water level at Kashinagar was rising and flowing above the danger mark. While its danger level is 54.60 metres, it was flowing at 56.30 metres.
