Chhatrapur: In a shocking incident, a woman was allegedly beaten to death by her husband for dowry at Benigohiri under Rambha police station in Ganjam district. The deceased was identified as K Namita Patra, daughter of K Raghunath of Nimapali village under K Purushottampur police limits and the accused as her husband K Santosh Patra, son of K Sanyashi Patra of Benigohiri.
Sources said the couple tied nuptial knot last year but two months after the marriage Namita’s in-laws started torturing her for dowry. Brother of the deceased complained to the police and a probe is on.
