Chhatrapur: Ganjam SP Brijesh Kumar Roy lauded 12 coronavirus warriors Sunday for joining their duties immediately after recovering from the dreaded COVID-19 infection. The 12 coronavirus warriors are from Aska and Bhanjanagar police station limits.
Roy tweeted, “Ganjam Police welcome back its 12 heroes of Aska & Bhanjanagar PSs who defeated COVID-19 and immediately resumed frontline duty after recovering from coronavirus. We are proud of their dedication.”

On the other hand Roy along with other cops is strictly checking the movement of people and vehicles at the Gurapalli check-post which is the border between Ganjam and Khurda districts. Only people associated with emergency and health-related work and with proper passes are being allowed to cross the border.
It should be stated here that the district administration has collected approximately Rs 18.61 lakh in fines from people till July 19 for violating shutdown and lockdown guidelines.
Meanwhile, to ensure strict enforcement of lockdown in both village and civic bodies Hinjili police is appealing to residents through constant public announcements. Police are asking people not to venture out unnecessarily.
With 247 new cases positive cases detected Sunday in Ganjam district, the tally went up to 5,527. Currently the district has 1,915 COVID-19 active cases while 3,554 patients have recovered from the disease. The district so far has reported 54 deaths.
