Rourkela: A garage worker here was disabled after assault by his owner with a wooden plank after he failed to return Rs 300 which he had borrowed, a report said Thursday.
The victim, Kasat Badaik, a resident of Vedavyas under Brahmanitarang police limits, has been rendered immobile after the garage owner Nandu Singh brutally assaulted him.
He is lying at home and unable to move out after his wife failed to arrange Rs 40,000 required for a medical operation for his recovery.
The matter came out after Kasat’s wife Lakshmi Badaik, (25), a housewife, met SP Uma Shankar Das at his office Thursday and pleaded with him to help her get financial assistance from the district administration.
Lakshmi, while meeting the SP, said the burden of feeding the family comprising her husband, two children, elderly father-in-law and a sister-in-law has come on her after her husband was rendered immobile.
