Nagpur: German Ambassador to India, Walter J. Lindner, called on RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat and toured the organisation’s headquarters here Wednesday.

Later, he shared pictures of his trip on Twitter with an accompanying post, “Visit of Headquarters of RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) in Nagpur and long meeting with its Sarsanghchalak (Chief) Dr. Mohan Bhagwat.”

Lindner also described the RSS, founded in 1925, as “the world’s largest voluntary organisation though not uncontroversially perceived throughout its history”.

During his ongoing tour of Nagpur, the envoy hopped on Maazi Metro for a ride, the city’s first 13.5km long Metro Rail project between Khapri-Sitabuldi, launched March 8, and said he enjoyed the experience.

At Khapri station, Lindner, accompanied by Maha Metro Managing Director Brijesh Dixit, went on a short bicycle ride to highlight the importance of clean and green environment.

A delegation comprising Lindner and officials of the KFW Development Bank, which had provided an easy loan of Rs 3,700 crore for the Maha Metro Project, were briefed about the upcoming infrastructure facility in Maharashtra’s second capital.
