Korei: Unable to bear the loss of her lover who ended his life a few days ago, a minor girl committed suicide at Panikoili area in Jajpur district Monday night.
The family members of both the girl and boy had opposed their marriage on the grounds that they belong to different communities.
Though her family members rushed her to the district hospital, doctors declared her ‘brought dead’.
On receipt of information, police reached the spot, seized the body and sent it for autopsy. Police also registered an unnatural death case.
According to reports, a youth of Alatiri village was in a love with the minor girl. However, following the opposition from family members, the youth committed suicide December 29 last year.
Unable to bear his loss, the girl took the extreme step and ended her life Monday, reports said.
