Girl returns to her Paradip home

Paradip, August 9: A team of Commissionerate Police from Cuttack handed over the girl, who accompanied self-proclaimed godman Sarathi Baba to a Hyderabad-based hotel, to her family members here Sunday.

The girl accompanied by a police team led by IIC Arun Kumar Swain and senior official of SCB Medical College and Hospital Braja Kishore Nanda arrived in a police vehicle at her father’s residential quarters at JB Colony in Madhuban.

The girl, a student of SCB Medical College and Hospital, returned home after the hostel authorities at SCB handed her over to the Commissionerate Police. Nanda handed over the girl to her parents after obtaining their signatures on a paper.

Swain asked the local police station IIC Bichitrananda Samal to provide round-the-clock security to the girl and her family. Later, 10 policemen were deployed at the house. 

According to Nanda, the girl was handed over to her parents after she expressed wish to come back home. Her health and mental condition is normal, he said.

According to reports, the girl and her family were found under duress with protesters staging demonstrations outside their house after her name figured with the controversial godman.
