Sambalpur: More than two months have passed since a complaint was lodged regarding the alleged selling of a girl in Rajasthan, but no action has been taken so far.
Pramila Munda, a resident of Pandaripathara under Kusumi police outpost in Mahulapali police station area, had filed the complaint alleging her daughter was sold in Rajasthan in December, 2018.
According to sources, Pratibha Naik, a resident of Garlamunda village had taken the girl to Rajasthan on the pretext of securing her a job December 26, 2018. Later, Pratibha married off the girl with an elderly man.
However, the girl managed to contact her family members and narrated her ordeal. She also informed that a group of people including Pratibha sold her to the elderly person for Rs 1 lakh. She had said that they were threatening to kill her.
In this regard, Pramila had filed a written complaint with the police December 27, basing on which a case was registered, but no action was taken so far.
The police inaction has led to outrage among her family members who sought the intervention of the SP and the Collector in the rescue of the victim.
