Girls perform better than boys in CBSE yet again

Students of Buxi Jagabandhu English Medium school celebrate the CBSE class 12 exam results.

Bhubaneswar: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the much awaited 2019 Class 12 results Thursday.

Uttar Pradesh girls Hansika Shukla and Karishma Arora topped the CBSE Class 12 exams scoring 499 marks each, CBSE Chairman Anita Karwal said.

Girls have done better (9 per cent more) than boys this year too. The pass percentage of girls is 88.7 per cent while that of boys is 79.40 per cent. City schools did well in the exam.

The students of BJEM School performed well both in the science and commerce streams.

Of the 188 students who appeared in the science stream, 46 secured 90 per cent and above and 175 students were placed in the first division. Sattwik Mishra with 97.2 per cent is the school topper in science.

The 68 students of commerce stream also did well with four students securing more than 90 per cent. Jaybrata Dash with 95.8 per cent is the school topper in commerce.

Students of DAV Public School Kalinga Nagar also performed well both in science and commerce streams. Here 98.42 per cent students were placed in the first division.

In science, Abhijit Manu with 94.6 per cent is the school topper, while Bidhan Agrawal with 93.2 per cent is the topper in commerce.

Similarly, the students of DAV Public School, Pokhariput, are overjoyed with their performance in the CBSE Class XII AISSCE-2019.

Of the 194 students who appeared for AISSCE in the science stream, 54 scored above 90 per cent. The school average stands at 83.01 per cent. The school average in the commerce stream is 80.59 per cent.

The rank holders in science stream are Apurba Parida (first, 96 per cent), Amogh Pati and Smruti Mohanty (second, 95.8 per cent) and Ishan Subhankar Pradhan (third, 95.6 per cent).

In commerce, the first rank holder is Adarsh Kumar Dora (97.4 per cent). The second rank holder is Ankit Sahu (95.6 per cent) and the third rank holder is Pancy Pialee Baliarsingh and Nirlipta Rath (93.8 per cent).

Apurba Parida, who topped the school rank list, said with delight, “It’s my perseverance and hard work that enabled me to accomplish this. I owe my success to my parents and teachers.”

DAV Public School, Unit-VIII, excelled once again with remarkable achievements in science, commerce and humanities streams.

In the science stream, Disha Agrawal and Manavesh Pradhan brought laurels to the school with a score of 97.6 per cent. Souvagya Ranjan Sethi and Anuska Routray secured the second rank with 97.2 per cent. Rashmi Ranjan Das secured the third position with 96.8 per cent.

All the 324 students passed and 322 students secured first class. 35 students of the school secured more than 95 per cent and 133 students secured more than 90 per cent.

Two students in Mathematics, nine in Biology, 14 in Physical Education, one in Economics and one in Entrepreneurship scored 100 per cent marks.

In the commerce stream, the highest percentage of 96.4 per cent was scored by Deepika Bothra. Gitika Biswal and Mridul Saraf came second with 95.6 per cent and Swati Choudhury came third with 95.2 per cent.

All the 83 students passed and 80 students secured first class. Four students secured more than 95 per cent and 23 students secured more than 90 per cent. In the humanities stream, all students secured first class.

SAI International School is proud of its brilliant performance in the All India Senior School Certificate Examination (AISSCE) 2019. Students from the science, commerce and humanities streams did exceptionally well.

The school’s highest mark of 97.6 per cent was scored by Rosy Dash of the in the science stream. She is followed by Ishita Patnaik and Pratham Agarwal who jointly bagged the second rank by securing 97.2 per cent in the commerce stream. They are also the state toppers in commerce.

In the science stream, Anurag Patra came third with 97 per cent. The topper in humanities is Nishka Mishra who secured 96.4 per cent.

Of the 485 students who appeared for the examination, 47 per cent scored more than 90 per cent and 92 per cent students secured more than 75 per cent. All SAIoneers have secured First Division this year too.

In the science stream, Rosy Dash is the school topper with an aggregate of 97.6 per cent, followed by Anurag Patra with 97 per cent.

In the science stream, 43 per cent students got above 90 per cent taking the school average in science to 86.4 per cent.

In the commerce stream, Ishita Patnaik and Pratham Agarwal jointly bagged the top score of 97.2 per cent. They are also the state toppers in commerce. In commerce, 53 per cent students got more than 90 per cent, taking the school average in commerce to 87.4 per cent.

The topper of the humanities stream is Nishka Mishra who secured 96.4 per cent. In humanities, 42 per cent students got more than 90 per cent, and the school average is 85.5 per cent.

SAIoneers have been setting new benchmarks in academics every year. AISSCE 2019 results reflect the hard work and perseverance of the students and teachers. Chairman Dr Bijaya Kumar Sahoo congratulated the students and wished them a bright future.
