“Last night, I had been to my sister-in-law’s house at Old Town area in Bhubaneswar. On way back home, I realised that my earrings were missing. I started searching for them on the street in front of my house. It was then that the bike-borne miscreants came and snatched by gold chain,” she said Friday.

The woman also said she had resisted their attempt and cried out for help. However, before help arrived the miscreants snatched her chain and fled the spot.

In the recent past, several cases of snatching have been reported in the city. Women and elderly persons are being targeted by the snatchers. Residents of the state capital have demanded that night patrolling by police be intensified to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.
