Gold worth Rs 4cr seized from moving train

Bhubaneswar: The Central Excise and Customs officials Thursday seized gold weighing 11 kilograms from the Howrah-Mumbai Jnaneswari Express between Rajgangpur and Jharsuguda.

On a tip-off that gold was being smuggled in the train, the officials intercepted the train and conducted the raid.

The sleuths later seized gold biscuits worth Rs 4 crore and detained two persons in this connection.

The detainees are stated to be residents of Mumbai.

The officials later handed them over to Bhubaneswar Central Excise and Customs officers for further investigation.
