Golfer Randhawa held for poaching in UP

Lucknow: International golfer Jyoti Singh Randhwa was arrested by Uttar Pradesh forest personnel Wednesday for poaching in the Katraniaghat wildlife sanctuary in Bahraich. Officials said Randhawa and his friend Mahesh Veerajdaar were arrested in Motipur range where they were poaching wild boars and cheetals. A case under Wildlife Protection Act was lodged against them and they have been sent to jail. They were spotted by foresters in Motipur trying to shoot animals. A deer skin and a rifle have been recovered from their vehicle. Field Director Ramesh Pandey confirmed the arrests.
